Dr Jonas holds dual qualification as a specialist in both Paediatric Sleep Medicine and General Paediatrics. She has more than 20 years of expertise in Paediatrics including several years of overseas experience as a Paediatrician. In addition to general childhood medical conditions, she is specialised in paediatric sleep disorders. These include obstructive sleep apnoea, insomnia, parasomnias, sleep onset and maintenance disorders and various nonrespiratory sleep problems.
She completed her medical degree in India. She undertook Fellowship training in General Paediatrics (including Neonatal medicine and Developmental/Behavioural Paediatrics) as well as Sleep Medicine in the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. Since January 2017, she has been practising as a Paediatric Sleep Physician/ Paediatrician in the private sector.
As a Conjoint Lecturer with UNSW, she had been integral to the education and training of the undergraduate medical students. She continues to offer this service through the consulting rooms. She is also involved in conducting CME programs for general practitioners and allied health staff. She is a valuable member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), Australasian Sleep Association (ASA), American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the World Sleep Society (WSS). She is passionate about medical research studies. Her research work was presented and published in conferences and journals nationally and internationally.
Dr Jonas is an active participant of the local Ryde community events. She volunteered at the Gold Telethon fundraising event for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation with Cannel 9.
