Dr Michael Miu is a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and Specialist Anaesthetist. He did his medical school at the University of Western Australia and then trained as a Specialist Anaesthetist where he developed a special interest in acute and chronic pain management. Michael then underwent his advanced specialist training in Pain Medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital. He subsequently pursued an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship to refine his skills in minimally-invasive pain procedures for patients suffering from chronic pain.
Michael has a public appointment as a Pain Specialist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital where he is actively involved in teaching and training future Pain Specialists. He presented his latest research in Platelet-Rich Plasma at the Australian and New Zealand Pain Society Annual Scientific Meeting, and was a lecturer in the University of Western Australia for medical students.
Michael manages patients with acute pain as part of the Acute Pain Service. He also sees patients with chronic pain in his private rooms at Western Pain Michael specialises in performing minimally-invasive procedures for pain arising from the head, neck, upper and lower back, shoulders, arms, chest, abdomen, groin, hips, knees and feet.
