Dr Guy Buchanan

Dr Buchanan has 20 years of experience in the areas of Pain Medicine  & Anaesthesiology. He has Fellowships in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He also has the Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice from the World Institute of Pain which is an international recognition of excellence in interventional pain practice.

Dr Buchanan's opinion is that a whole person approach delivers the best outcomes in the framework of an interdisciplinary biopsychosocial approach. Dr Buchanan uses evidence-based interventional tools (when appropriate) to make the best diagnosis of the biomedical source of pain, which then informs decision-making for guiding treatment with the aim of minimising medication usage and supporting physical and psychological reconditioning so as to restore function as much as possible.
