Dr Rubina Hameed

Dr Ruby Hameed is a General Paediatrician. She graduated from the University of Punjac in Lahore, Pakistan. Her advanced training in Paediatrics was in the UK based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH), a world-leading children’s hospital. She trained in general paediatrics, oncology, renal and community Paediatrics and later worked as a consultant paediatrician at BCH before moving to Melbourne, Australia in 2003.

Ruby was awarded a Diploma of Child Health (UK) and is a member of the Royal Colleges of Paediatrics (UK and Ireland), a Fellow of the Australian College of Paediatrics and member of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA). She maintains her CPD by regular attendance at meetings both in Australia and overseas.

Over the last 12 years in Melbourne, Ruby has worked as a General Paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital in the Department of Paediatrics and the Emergency Department. She now works in the Allergy department at RCH and also consults at Nillumbik Health. Ruby works at Northpark Hospital and is on the roster for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). She also admits babies under 12 months in the Mother and Baby Unit for sleep and settling issues. Ruby sees children from 0-18 years of age.

She strongly believes in preventative medicine. She has a particular clinical interest in allergies and provides a comprehensive assessment including skin prick testing if indicated. She also has extensive experience in children’s behaviour and regularly sees children and adolescents with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
